Two Trees House

The Haughton Green Methodist Chapel opened as the Haughton Green Wesleyan

Chapel in 1811. It served the community for many decades but in early 2011, the church closed. It sat abandoned and was further damaged by fire in July 2020.

The building is considered significant because it is representative of the growing presence of the nonconformist movement in Denton and Haughton during the early nineteenth century. So it was important to preserve its heritage assets.

We created four apartments out of the existing church building; paying tribute to the church’s 200-year history. We retained the beautiful and iconic curved windows and a lot of the special architectural touches that made it a beloved part of the community.

Inside, the apartments received a modern kit-out with all the conveniences that residents have come to expect from Demicon.
