Former Accrington Magistrates’ Court and Police Station

The former Accrington Magistrates’ Court and Police Station in Spring Gardens off Manchester Road, has not been in use since 2016.

It will undergo a £2 million redevelopment if Hyndburn Council approves the planning application presented by Demicon.

The scheme would preserve the Grade II Listed building and much of its heritage features while creating a viable business, social and residential hub.

We’ve proposed to keep the courtrooms, the entrance hallway and the cells intact, preserving the important features of the building. The building also has a central courtyard which will be landscaped to a high standard and utilised as a common amenity space for the apartments.

Our ambitious but achievable plan will preserve this historic building while providing additional facilities for all residents of Accrington, England.
